FREE visit opportunity for 12 MEDATS members

We have an invitation for 12 MEDATS members to visit the Clothworkers Centre of the Victoria and Albert Museum, Olympia, London on Tuesday 6 February 2018 11.00-1.00, to see samples of medieval textiles (mostly from the 12th to 13th centuries), acquired by the museum between 1854 to the 1920s and categorised under different labels such as Sicilian, Moorish, Saracenic, most of which could be classified today as Iberian (a possible Spanish workshop).

Our host is Ana Cabrera-Lafuente, Marie S.-Curie Fellow (Project no. 703711 “Interwoven”).

Admission by ticket only. Tickets from the MEDATS Ticketing Secretary, Carole Thompson, 9 Fairthorn Road, Charlton, London SE7 7RL. Please sent stamped addressed envelope for the ticket.

Security is very tight. Please allow 20 minutes at least for bag search and to deposit bags, outer clothing & possessions in lockers.

To gain access to the centre you will need to provide personal identification which must include a photograph. Acceptable forms of personal identification include:

  • passport
  • National Identity Card
  • photo driving licence
  • student identity card
  • official accreditation card from a recognised place of work
  • library ticket
